How and Why We Collect Your Personal Information

We collect personal information from you when you apply for or use our products and services. In particular, we collect it so we can provide you with the products and services you require.

Personal information may include any sensitive information (including health information) and any information you tell us about any vulnerability you may have.

Providing Your Personal Information to Others

In providing products and services to you, it may be necessary for us to retain your personal information and provide it to other organisations with which we conduct business. We may exchange the information with the following types of entities, some of which may be located overseas:

  • Organisations that provide credit or other products or services to you or to whom an application has been made for those products and services;
  • Finance consultants, accountants, auditors, real estate agents, conveyancers, legal advisers, insurers, and mailing services;
  • Any associates, related entities, contractors, and our mortgage aggregator (Specialist Finance Group);
  • Any industry body, tribunal, court, or otherwise in connection with any complaint regarding our services;
  • Any person where we are required by law to do so;
  • Your referees, such as your employer, to verify information you have provided;
  • Any person considering acquiring an interest in our business or assets; or
  • Any organisation providing online verification of your identity.

Personal information may be disclosed to our offshore processing team, located in the Philippines. Where we do this, we take reasonable steps to ensure that these parties comply with Australian privacy laws or have equivalent protections in place.

Your personal information will only be disclosed for the purpose for which it was collected or for related purposes that would reasonably be expected without your further permission. For example, we may use and disclose personal information to process applications, audit applications, communicate with you, and deal with any complaints or enquiries.

We take steps to protect your personal information against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes secure storage, encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews.

Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if the information is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.

If we are unable to provide access or make corrections, we will notify you in writing and explain the reason. We may require proof of identity before processing your request.

Complaints Process

If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us at complaints@organichomeloans.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

If Your Personal Information is Not Provided

If you do not provide us with the requested information, we may be unable to supply you with the product or service you require.

Consent to Provide Your Personal Information to a Credit Reporting Body (CRB)

You authorise us to act as an access seeker within the meaning of section 6L of the Privacy Act to seek and obtain credit information on your behalf for the purpose of establishing which product is most suitable for your requirements and circumstances.

If we act as your agent to obtain a report or information about your consumer or commercial creditworthiness from a CRB, we may disclose personal information such as your name, date of birth, and address to the CRB to obtain an assessment of whether that personal information matches information held by it.

Credit information may include your identity details, type and terms of credit, repayment history, default information, court information, personal insolvency details, and details of any serious credit infringements.

Consent to Receive Marketing Information

We may periodically provide you with information about new products and services available from us or from other businesses with whom we have a relationship. Your consent to receive this information is implied unless you notify us that you do not wish to receive marketing communications.

Consent to Receive Documents Electronically

You consent to us providing you with documents by electronic communication and acknowledge that paper documents may no longer be provided. You agree to regularly check your electronic communications for important documents. You may withdraw this consent at any time.

Consent to Being Recorded by Video or Audio Conferencing

You consent to us obtaining personal, financial, and credit information about you via video or audio conferencing for the purpose of arranging credit and providing credit assistance. You also consent to these sessions being recorded for this purpose.
